Mr. COLTON GRANT BRASWELL....Newest Addition to Our Family!!!

3 Months ....Later!

Well haven't been on here since a few days before I had baby Colton. As you can see from previous post, my baby came about 2 weeks early. My husband kept predicting I would have him on 12-12-12...I kept saying, No way! At 9:00 pm on the 12th, I said "see, told you so." and to my SUPRISE at 1:00 am, I started hurting really bad and my water broke...I had never experienced this before so wasn't so sure what was going on...so in middle of night I'm in the bathroom with my phone googling what it feels like for your "water to break".
I woke James up and told him I think my water has or is breaking...slowly....I said no hurry, I'm going to get a shower and put on my makeup. I was so calm & peaceful...and then we woke Chloe up to tell her the GOOD NEWS!!!

As we get to hosptial I am very calm, just so ready to see our little guy.....still NO ONE knowing what we are going to name him! At 5:58 am, COLTON GRANT is born, 6 lbs.5oz.

Back home, maternity leave going okay, Colton has colic which isn't too great, he is a "needy" baby unlike Chloe....we had to try about 4 different baby formula until we finally found one that agreed with him.

When Colton was about 3 weeks old, I got really sick, which actually I felt it coming on right after having him. I felt sluggish, kept having a fever every few days...no energy...and having complications with my colitis. I kept dealing with it....and then finally decided to find out what was wrong with me. I ended up being in the hospital at NEGMC for 1 whole week. I had to have 2 bags of blood, tons of fluids and strong medicines...I literally thought I was dying, it was that BAD!! I got really depressed that week too, my husband didn't have any leave from his new job, so he came a few nights, but hardly had visitors....Finally got home on that Friday afternoon! Feeling tons better.....but little did I know I would be back at a hospital about 7 weeks later, but I wouldn't be the patient!

Went back to work after 7 weeks of maternity leave! Worked 2 whole weeks and then Colton got deathly sick! Had been to his local doctors several times, was sent to NEGMC on Thursday afternoon, then was advised by the baby doctor on call that we needed to be airflighted to Egleston....THIS is when I lost it!!!! I was thinking no biggie we will get a room, stay a day or 2, but when I heard these words....my heart dropped!
Colton was VERY bad.....they even said that he had turned "gray"....was really made me think how bad he was.

We made the decision that I was the parent to fly with him to Egleston....Colton had pneumonia, RSV, Hypernotis ( kidney problem) and Horizontal Nystatia ( his eyes started jumping in the middle of our stay)....
Those hospital walls brought back too familiar feelings....sad, depressed, etc. We were in PICU for 4 days and then moved to regular room. Colton had to have his lungs suctioned out tons of times, which I couldn't stand watching....James stayed over the weekend, but again he didn't have leave fromm work...he came down a few evenings, but with Egleston being almost 2 hours from Habersham county, we only had visitors 2 times....I was going stir CRAZY! With Colton hooked up to so many cords, I could only lift him to change diaper and right beside bed to rocking chair. Sleeping on the teny-tiny couch fold out, me and James when he came to stay.
The only time getting to leave the room was for lunch or dinner daily....
FINALLY getting to go home on Thursday evening....1 week later!

After Colton getting so sick, I KNEW he was not going back to the daycare, even though Chloe went there, I personally couldn't get past the part that I KNEW he got it from there only 2 weeks after being put in there. I went back and forth with where we were going to put him....I texted and called people non-stop....I got 3 people to look into....and we settled on Miss Terri !! She is a great Christian women, felt really good with talking with her and we went to visit her and her husband as well...I had prayed all week and knew several other people were praying for us to find the "perfect" babysitter for Colton. I just felt a Great peace when we went to visit them...

So now our lives are getting back to normal....as a Family of 4 !!!! Looking forward to spring/summer so much!!!
